It has been a wonderful summer so far. The weather has been fabulous, the flowers supplied by local gardens have been a dream to work with and The Travelling Floral Circus has hosted it’s second floral party.
Nikki Mitchell came and shot a short film and Shannon from SLR Photography was also there taking photographs. With so many cameras around I think the other diners may have thought we were famous!
The evening kicked off with some (rather strong but wonderful) cocktails mixed by Carlos of Pachangas Mexican Restaurant in Henley on Thames.
After a cocktail tutorial , I did a short demo on how to create a Frida Kahlo inspired Flower Crown.
By this point everyone was excited and ready to get creative. I handed out pails of flowers along with wire and scissors to work with. There were delicious nibbles provided by Pachangas while my guests got busy designing, wiring and constructing their flower crowns. Once they were finished they all looked fab…and each one was so different.
I had a little surprise for the guests. Two beautifully styled (by my dear friend Jade Soar) models entered the restaurant wearing two huge flowers crowns. Even I gasped at how amazing Jade had made them look with their full length gowns and glittering eye shadow.
The evening concluded with more tapas and cocktails. Every one went home happy with their heads adorned with flowers.
